Common heartburn and reflux drugs pose great danger to our health. Some common names they are marketed under are Prilosec® (now available over the counter), Prevacid® and Nexium®.

They, along with other proton pump inhibitors, as well as all “antacids” create great health danger because they neutralize the vital hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Low stomach pH, less than 4, is extremely vital for the digestion of food and for the body’s utilization of nutrients. Unknown to the public, almost all symptoms of acid indigestion are not an indication of too much acid at all. They are a sure sign that there is not enough stomach acid.

Low stomach acid plagues seniors from the mid-50s up.

The symptoms you have that you assume are signs of too much stomach acid are signs that your stomach acid is too low and that food is putrefying in your stomach and creating organic acids of fermentation, causing the symptoms of heartburn.

Of course this false alarm causes people to buy and consume all sorts of pharmaceutical “antacids.” It’s a multi-billion dollar business built upon false advertising. This alone is tremendous support for the medical establishment, which makes billions on the “purple pills” and then on the health effects caused by their long-term use. It is no less than subtle population control.

When we attack our stomach acid we not only are literally starving our bodies of vital nutrients, we are setting ourselves up for sickness and possibly early death. Some conditions linked to antacids are stomach cancer, dementia, irregular heartbeat, heart attacks, iron deficiency, pneumonia, fatigue and brittle bones. And now add another: chronic kidney disease.

According to a report published in February in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) Internal Medicine, users of PPIs had a 20 percent to 50 percent higher risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD) than non-users.

So the medical-industrial complex has made tens of billions of dollars – Nexium grossed $6.1 billion in 2013 alone – on drugs they know are harmful. Now, seizing on these findings by JAMA Internal Medicine and in light of a growing number of complaints of CKD, the legal industry is set to make a killing off them as well.

What to do? If you have symptoms of acid indigestion, you can begin at once to take betaine hydrochloride, 6 to 8 tablets daily. Use citrocarbonate or an aluminum-free sodium bicarbonate powder (baking soda) dissolved in water for temporary relief.

If you’re leery of taking a betaine hydrochloride supplement and/or if your acid indigestion or acid reflux symptoms are minor, you can add lemon juice to your meals (I add a squeeze of lemon to every glass of water I drink) and you can also add a half to 1 teaspoon of sea salt to a glass of water for a few days. I cured my own acid indigestion problems years ago with the lemon juice and sea salt method, and keep them in check with lemon juice.

Alternatively, add 1 or 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to a glass of water.

The symptoms of acid indigestion will go away when your stomach acid is restored.

Of course, your friendly cardiologist will blow a gasket when he learns you are doing this, but he loves his ignorance.

Millions upon millions live a life of discomfort when they are so close to relief. If we kill our stomach acid with antacids, we will ultimately wind up with stomach cancer. The medical community is mostly ignorant of this.

Correct stomach pH is not only critical to health as stated above, stomach acid or hydrochloric acid (HCL) is vital therapy for sickness and even terminal illness.

For more study I recommend the little book “Three Years of HCL Therapy,” by Roy W. Huntsman, published in 1935, is a collection of articles from the “Medical World” by Dr. Burr Ferguson and Dr. Walter B. Guy. It contains a wealth of information on hydrochloric therapy, but this has now been shoved down the memory hole of modern medicine. This collection discusses the use of dilute hydrochloric acid intravenously, intramuscularly and orally and locally in the treatment of many diseases. It is a very difficult book to find, though it sometimes appears on Amazon.

Other books on the benefits of HCl therapy are “Acid and Alkaline,” by Herman Aihara, and “Alkalize or Die: Superior Health Through Proper Alkaline-Acid Balance,” by Theodore A. Baroody.

HCL is a highly effective germicide effective against sinus infection, acne, healing of wounds, cancer, pneumonia, malaria, spinal meningitis, typhus, liver and intestinal ailments, diabetes, tetanus, sexual impotence and more.
